Acceptable Use Policy
The Shearing Board™ — Operated by ShearCore™ Limited
Effective date: 22 April 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules for using The Shearing Board™ (“Platform”) operated by ShearCore™ Limited (“we”, “us”). It applies to all users — administrators, team leaders, staff, and anyone else with a Platform account.
This AUP supplements our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. If there is any inconsistency, the Terms of Use prevail.
1. Use the Platform for its intended purpose
The Platform is designed for managing shearing operations — scheduling, compliance reporting, communication, and record keeping. Use it for work purposes only.
You must not use the Platform to:
- Conduct any activity that is unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent
- Store, transmit, or distribute content that is offensive, threatening, defamatory, or discriminatory
- Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
- Promote or facilitate illegal activity
2. Keep your account secure
- Do not share your login credentials with anyone
- Do not use another person's account
- Log out of shared or public devices after use
- Notify your administrator (or us) immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
3. Respect data and privacy
- Only access information you are authorised to view
- Do not download, copy, or share personal information from the Platform outside of normal work use
- Do not screenshot or photograph sensitive data (e.g. IRD numbers, bank details, medical information) for personal use or distribution
- Report any suspected data breach or privacy concern to your administrator or to [email protected]
4. Enter accurate information
- All data entered must be truthful and accurate
- Do not enter false, misleading, or fabricated records (including tallies, incident reports, and compliance logs)
- If you notice an error, correct it or report it promptly
5. Do not interfere with the Platform
You must not:
- Attempt to gain access to systems, accounts, or data you are not authorised to access
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Platform
- Introduce viruses, malware, or any harmful code
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Platform
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover source code
- Overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Platform's performance or availability
6. Respect intellectual property
- Do not copy, reproduce, distribute, or commercialise any part of the Platform
- Do not use the Platform to build or inform a competing product or service
- ShearCore™ and The Shearing Board™ are trade marks — do not use them without written permission
7. Anonymous reporting
The Platform includes an anonymous reporting feature for workplace conduct and wellbeing concerns. You must not:
- Submit false or vexatious anonymous reports
- Attempt to identify the author of an anonymous report
- Retaliate against anyone suspected of making a report
8. Communications
When using the Platform's messaging and communication features:
- Keep messages professional and work-related
- Do not send spam, chain messages, or unsolicited content
- Be aware that messages may be visible to administrators and may be retained for compliance purposes
9. Consequences of breach
If you breach this AUP, we (or your employer/administrator) may:
- Issue a warning
- Restrict or suspend your access to the Platform
- Permanently remove your account
- Report the matter to your employer, relevant authorities, or law enforcement where appropriate
Serious or repeated breaches may also result in termination of the customer's agreement with ShearCore.
10. Reporting concerns
If you become aware of any misuse of the Platform or a breach of this AUP, please report it to your administrator or contact us directly at [email protected].
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. The latest version will be available on our website and will show the effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance.
